Wrapping up 2024

Reflecting on a dynamic 2024 filled with impactful safety training, memorable milestones, and continued growth at Riskill.

Wrapping Up 2024: A Year of Growth, Travel, and Teamwork

As the year comes to a close, I had the privilege of ending 2024 on a high note with a final class for Drake Inc. in Waco, Nebraska. Joined by my family and newest team member, Josh McClure, we had an unforgettable day with Dustin and Staci Drake’s incredible crews. The combination of great people, delicious food, and a shared commitment to safety made for an excellent finale to the year. (Learn more about Josh McClure and his journey with Riskill here.)

Spotlight on Drake Inc.

One of the highlights of this year has been working with Drake Inc., a company that exemplifies excellence. Covering 50 states and maintaining a spotless safety record with no injuries, they’re a prime example of how dedication to safety pays off. Learn more about their outstanding work here.

By the Numbers

My final trip of the year logged 825 miles, capping off a year where my total mileage was down by 10,000 compared to previous years. Despite fewer miles, it was a busy and rewarding year:

  • 99 in-person class days: Spanning three states and involving 43 companies, universities, and municipalities.

  • 217 certifications awarded: With over 1,000 students impacted through both in-person and online classes. Teaching all from fire safety, HAZMAT, drug and alcohol substance abuse, forklift operator, electrical safety and NFPA, and more.

  • OSHA Classes: I led five OSHA-10 and four OSHA-30 hour classes, training a total of 98 students. This marks the most OSHA classes I’ve conducted in my 25-year career.

  • Shift Flexibility: Taught classes across first, second, and third shifts to meet the diverse needs of clients.

Additional Highlights

This year also brought unique opportunities and challenges:

  • Appeared on the "What’s the Hazard" podcast.

  • Exhibited at three conferences, broadening our reach and connections.

  • Managed personal hurdles, including knee surgery and installing a new motor in the Ram.

Looking Ahead

As I reflect on 2024, I’m filled with gratitude for the clients, students, and colleagues who made this year so impactful. From memorable classes to new additions to the team, it’s been a year of growth and achievement. Here's to continuing the journey in 2025 with renewed energy and focus on safety excellence.

Wishing everyone a safe and prosperous new year!
